VJ Day 2020

Welcome to the Looe Royal British Legion website. Looe is a small coastal town and fishing port in South East Cornwall. It is a popular holiday resort with it's picturesque harbour and beach. The Looe branch of the the Royal British Legion (RBL) was formed in 1921. We hold friendly and informal meetings which are held on a monthly basis. Everybody is welcome to attend our meetings and see how we function and what we do.

Remembrance Sunday: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there was no official ceremonies at the Looe War Memorial in the year 2020. Although the war memorial flags were flown on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, and were lowered to half-mast at 11am, on both days, for two minutes as a mark of respect. Hopefully things will be getting back to normal for November 2021.

Meetings: We are glad to inform you that our ‘first Monday of the month’ branch meetings are recommencing from Monday 5th July, 2021. The venue is, as always, the ground floor bar of the Looe Social Club, West Looe Quay. Meetings start sharp at 7:30 pm but it might be prudent to be a little early whilst we have to follow the Coronavirus (COVID-19) regulations. We look forward to seeing our members and new, or potential, members are very welcome.
